1. BBC Proms

The world’s greatest classical music event returns to London throughout August and September and each performance is not to be missed!

The Proms are hosted at a variety of beautiful venues through London but the closest to us here at The Athenaeum is Royal Albert Hall and Cadogan Hall with tickets available daily.

2. Kids Week London

Kids Week has been created to encourage young people to get involved in theatre during the school holiday’s and immerse themselves in the arts!

Children aged 16 or under can go free to any participating show when accompanied by an adult paying full price and adults can also purchase up to two extra children’s tickets at half price.

3. Notting Hill Carnival

Since 1966, the Notting Hill Carnival has taken place in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea over the August Bank Holiday and is one of the world’s largest street festivals filling West London with a vibrant Caribbean festival of colour, street food, elaborate floats and gorgeous costumes.

Sunday is Family day with a quieter and more relaxed experience starting in Ladbroke Grove with family workshops, a children’s parade and calypso dancing.

4. London Chocolate Tour

Luxury guided walking tours right here in Mayfair where you can sample truffles, chocolates and ganache from Artisan Chocolatiers.

On the tour you should expect approximately 7-10 samples and a few surprises along the way and is led by a former Cocoa & Coffee trader on the London Futures & Options Exchange. Chocolate heavenly treat for you and your friends so don’t miss it!

5. Afternoon Tea Week

Monday 14th August marks the start of official Afternoon Tea Week; a celebration of the British tradition dating back to the 1840’s.

Galvin at The Athenaeum have collaborated with Valrhona chocolate to develop the Chocolate Afternoon Tea where you can indulge in Valrhona delights, along with delicious scones and sandwiches.
