Before joining the team, our Executive Head Chef, Ian Howard worked as Head Chef at Borough Market’s renowned Roast Restaurant and as Executive Head Chef at Babylon Restaurant and The Roof Gardens High Street Kensington.
His cooking style is simple and fresh, enticing the full flavours out of ingredients and adding an interesting and unexpected twist. Ian is passionate about sourcing the very best ingredients: “One of my favourite daily tasks is talking with suppliers to find out what their best produce is on any given day and transforming that into something magnificent for our customers.”
The food was superb quality and we didn't feel we were being short changed by picking from the set menu. I would definitely recommend the restaurant. Cornel and his team made our evening very enjoyable and we will certainly return. Well done.
We had the pleasure of experiencing the 5 course tasting menu with matching wines at 116 at the Athenaeum and it was fabulous. Every course of food was wonderful, the service was excellent (they agreed with no issue at all to change the cheese course for me to another desert as I'm not a fan of cheese). Cornell was our waiter/service mgr and he was excellent at every point. I would highly recommend and can't wait to go back!
Lovely place to have a catch up with friends. Our waiter Valentina was incredibly attentive and friendly which really made the trip and the food by Sergei was highly enjoyable.
ll staff were professional, friendly and welcoming, the dining room was stunning. Particular thanks goes to Alam who was an absolute gentleman, very attentive and made us feel comfortable and well looked after. Special praise goes to the cured salmon and beef cheek dishes! Even though we were late and time ran over, the restaurant very kindly arranged for our dessert to be packaged up (even vacuum packing the accompaniments!) so that we could enjoy at home. A wonderful experience and impeccable service from your staff. Thank you ever so much for a lovely memory.
