From its lofty position atop The Athenaeum, The View is a exclusive club for hotel guests to soak up panoramic views of London. With floor-to-ceiling windows, cosy seating areas with coffee tables and design-led furniture, this is a space that offers a stylish retreat from the buzz of the city down below.
Every day, guests at The Athenaeum can enjoy a complimentary tipple together with nibbles supplied by our restaurant by Michelin-starred brothers – Galvin at The Athenaeum. It’s a space with a regular array of inspiring experiences going on too, from masterclasses on making the perfect G&T to mindfulness sessions overlooking Green Park. There will even be an occasional performance by an English National Opera soprano over a breakfast Mimosa and bedtime stories selected by Mayfair’s famous Sotheran’s bookstore.
True to its name, however, The View is all about the cityscape of London the space overlooks. While there are plenty of spots in London to get a bird’s eye view of the city, few places offer a panoramic experience from such a luxuriant and exclusive setting. As well as views over the Royal Green Park, you can also see St James’s Park, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey and the London Eye from our privileged spot above the rooftops.
You’re in good company when you visit The View too. Formerly the hotel’s penthouse apartment, The Athenaeum decided to open the space back up to guests for an exclusive experience they can all enjoy. While it was still a penthouse suite, however, guests included the likes of Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West. The Athenaeum boasts a long line of famous guests, from Elizabeth Taylor and Nelson Mandela, to Samuel L Jackson, Harry Styles, Natalie Portman and Russell Crowe, to name but a few. Take That also announced their split from The Athenaeum, and Steven Spielberg edited E.T., Close Encounters and Raiders of the Lost Ark from the property too!
