Serpentine Pavilion

Each summer, the Serpentine Gallery in Hyde Park selects an architect or artist to design its pavilion, and for 2019, the Japanese architect Junya Ishigami has been chosen. Known for his experimental structures that marry traditional architecture with natural phenomena, Ishigami is creating a canopy from slates that will appear to emerge from the grounds of Hyde Park. Inside, the pavilion will be a cave-like space, ideal for quiet contemplation. The Serpentine Pavilion will be available to visit from 20 June until 6 October.
