Savoury Afternoon Tea

17th June 2021

DAY ONE

3pm – Time to check in

Out of office on. It’s time to check-in and embrace a staycation in the capital. For a tip-top stay, we recommend one of our Green Park Suites, which – as the name suggests – comes with verdant views.

4pm – Retail therapy calls…

No stay in Mayfair would be complete without a little retail therapy. Whether you opt for quintessentially British Burlington Arcade or venture a little further afield to the likes of Liberty, there’s certainly no shortage of shops.

8pm – Dinner is served

Shopping bags safely stowed, head downstairs to 116 at The Athenaeum to enjoy a seasonal British menu.

DAY TWO

10am – Take your pick of the parks

Green Park, Hyde Park, St James’ Park – take your pick! This summer, we will be the official hotel sponsor of an incredible elephant family installation from CoExistence, so – naturally – we recommend a wander to see them.

1pm – Afternoon tea awaits…

After a scenic stroll, make your way back to The Athenaeum for a spot of tea, not forgetting the neat finger sandwiches, scones, cakes and pastries. And a glass of Champagne. Well, it would be rude not to!

7pm – West End wonderment

Hop on the tube and head to the West End for an evening of pure enjoyment. Smaller productions are set to return this summer. Or, if you’re planning ahead, Moulin Rouge transfers to the Piccadilly theatre this autumn.

DAY THREE

10am – Get your culture fix

Just a hop, skip and a jump from our front door, you’ll find the Royal Academy of Arts, where exhibitions from Tracey Emin and David Hockney will be available throughout summer. Over at the Design Museum, there’s a more contemporary take on art with ‘Sneakers Unboxed: Studio to Street’.

4pm – Discover an urban haven

Following two days of excitement, relax and unwind with a visit to The Spa at The Athenaeum. Take a dip in the bubbling hot tub or for the ultimate indulgence, book a Temple Spa treatment to melt away any tension.

8pm – Watch the sun set

Located on the tenth floor, The View is the hotel’s exclusive residents’ lounge. With panoramic views across the skyline, it makes for the perfect spot to watch the sun set, Champagne in hand.

8.30pm – Dinner at 116

Since day one of your stay, you’ll likely have been thinking about all the dishes you didn’t get the chance to sample from the 116 at The Athenaeum menu. Now’s your chance!

DAY FOUR

9am – Lie in with room service

No need to rush around – room service will bring up the tastiest of breakfasts, freshly prepared by our talented chefs.

10am – Just before you go…

The time has come to check out, but make the most of your last day in London by leaving your bags with concierge and heading for one final hurrah. With bumper cars, music and dining courtesy of Jimmy Garcia, Dodge at Somerset House is not to be missed this summer.

Until next time… toodle-pip!
