You may be lucky enough to have tickets to the Chelsea Flower show but if you don’t, London will be blooming with flowers spilling onto the streets from retailers embracing the spirit of the event and competing in the Chelsea in Bloom competition. We may even join in with a themed cocktail or two.
For the culture vultures amongst you The Open Air Theatre season starts in Regents Park with the staging of their biggest ever musical to date – On The Town. At The Globe catch the Olivier award winning Nell Gwynn – a lady who was the personal favourite of King Charles II – and Twelfth Night, a hilariously tangled, side-splitting play packed with cross-dressing and confusion! Concierge will advise on the availability of tickets, they will be happy to chat in advance of your stay.
For the children amongst you meet Red, Chuck and Bomb at Madame Tussauds ahead of the release of the Angry Birds Movie. Or, as we are literally at the gates of 350 acres of the Royal Parks take the family to explore scavenger and nature discovery trails, experience the Dawn Chorus or take a night-time tour to discover the bats – we can provide you with picnics or organise bicycles.
And, for the creative of all ages, London will become the showcase of exceptional craftsmanship. London Craft Week returns for a five-day event in early May which will see galleries across London host more than 230 events of ancient skills to new techniques including; a Mulberry leatherworking event, glassblowing workshops, a Savile Rowe tailoring exhibition and a LEGO mosaic masterclass.
