Cruise around London’s docklands with GoBoat in Canary Wharf, an exciting, self-drive boating experience that offers an alternate ‘date night’ experience in an idyllic location on the glittering Thames. Revel in the freedom of you and your date having the entire boat to yourself for up to three hours. You needn’t worry about having any prior boating experience as training will be given upon arrival and you’ll have access to a route map to help you both navigate your way around the docklands. Perhaps pack a picnic and a bottle of bubbly to make the date extra special? The price to hire one boat begins at £69 for the first hour.
Starting in bustling Piccadilly Circus, channel your inner Sherlock Holmes and follow this mysterious and cryptic trail together through central London. Secrets of the Squares is an exciting yet perplexing city hunt, with each clue being a series of directions that is followed by a question to be answered. The answers are usually hidden in the surroundings– signs, plaques, dates etc. Along the way, drop in to the numerous pubs and cafes that sit along the trail for a well-needed pit stop and to mull over any outstanding clues yet to be solved. We recommend the Lamb and Flag in Covent Garden (also a favourite haunt of Charles Dickens’) where you can enjoy craft lagers, seasonal ales, ciders and spirits. Even though you need to book a date online, there are no start time restrictions for this city hunt – you can begin whenever you like!

You can’t beat a classic date night at the cinema. But, what if you could take the cinema experience with the popcorn and the big screen and transport it to somewhere completely different? The Backyard Cinema does just this. Taking amazing London venues and transforming them into fully immersive cinemas, (cobbled Camden courtyards and candlelit churches are just some examples of previous ventures) the company’s first permanent site is located at Wandsworth’s iconic Capital Studios. Here, you can choose between two themed movie theatres and watch either new releases or classics such as Dirty Dancing and Moulin Rouge. Alternatively, soak up the festive season with a Christmas classic, such as Elf, The Holiday and The Grinch. A night at the movies wouldn’t be complete without drinks and snacks, so head over to the Studio Bar for nachos or a Backyard Pizza, cooked fresh to order.
Seriously impress your date with this unconventional cocktail bar experience. Hidden away in the depths of The Breakfast Club on Artillery Lane is a secret venue that only a select few know about. Simply enter and inform a member of staff that you are “here to see the Mayor” and they will usher you over to a seemingly ordinary fridge in the corner of the room, in which you will need to climb through to get to the bar. Filled with vintage furniture and eccentric wall art, The Mayor of Scaredy Cat Town boasts a relaxed and sociable atmosphere, perfect for date night. The cocktail menu bursts with a flourishing array of weird and wonderful drinks, including Tiki Do You Love Me, with Gosling’s dark rum and passionfruit, and Cherry Bomb, with Roe & Coe Irish Whiskey, cherry liqueur and honey.

Yes, the name is very suggestive but it’s not what you think! This is crazy golf with a boozy twist. Spend the evening at Swingers drinking cocktails, sampling London’s best street-food and playing a round or two of crazy golf, all to the backdrop of Swingers’ talented DJs. Choose from two venues in London, each with a wonderful nine-hole golf course to get competitive over, from Helter Skelter and Big Wheel at the West End, to Lighthouse and Windmill at the City. Happy swinging!
The last of our best dates in London… Picture a relaxing and romantic evening spent dining on the beautiful cobbled streets of Antibes, sipping on the finest wines as the warm evening sun sinks over the horizon… We don’t know about you, but to us that sounds like pure heaven. But unfortunately, this is London, not Provence. However, what if we told you that tucked away in the district of Holborn in central London there was an elegant provincial-style cocktail bar that on entering, instantly transports guests to the sunny South of France, with no air travel necessary. Baranis is the ultimate chic basement venue in London and home to the UK’s only indoor pétanque court – a traditional game played in the South of France, and of course, much more exciting after a cocktail or two!
