Peach Bourbon Smash
Create spring cocktails with our recipe below.
We're letting you in on a little secret. Our bar manager at The Athenaeum Hotel & Residences, Kazi has divulged the recipe for his Peach Bourbon Smash. Simple enough to make at home, impressive enough to serve at your dinner party.
Ingredients:
60ml Woodford Reserve Bourbon whiskey (or your favourite bourbon)
¼ fresh peach
3 lemon wedges
15ml simple syrup
Method:
1. Muddle the ripe peach and lemon wedges in a shaker to release their juices and essential oils.
2. Add the bourbon and simple syrup, fill with ice and shake well.
3. Double strain the cocktail into a rocks glass over ice for a clean, refined finish.
4. Finish with a slice of peach and fresh mint garnish, lifting the bourbon notes without overpowering.
"The fresh peach provides a gentle, natural sweetness that complements the vanilla, oak and spice notes of Woodford Reserve Bourbon, while fresh lemon adds balance and freshness to the drink."
