Is there an age requirement to use the spa?

Guests must be 16 or over to use the main spa facilities and treatments.

Do I need to book spa treatments in advance?

Yes, we recommend booking ahead. Our spa is very popular, and reservations ensure you enjoy the treatment, therapist, and time that suits you best. To make a reservation, please email spa@athenaeumhotel.com

Can I book a spa day or gift a spa experience?

Yes. We offer spa experiences and gift vouchers that include a choice of treatments and access to our facilities. These make thoughtful gifts for celebrations or moments of calm. Click here to browse our vouchers.

Sustainability sits at the heart of how we operate. The hotel uses energy-efficient systems, responsible waste and recycling processes, and locally sourced products wherever possible. Can you arrange taxis or airport transfers?

Yes. Our Concierge can arrange taxis, chauffeured cars and airport transfers. Meet and greet airport assistance can also be organised on request, ensuring a smooth arrival or departure.

Do you offer turndown service?

Yes. Evening turndown is provided between 8:00pm and 9:00pm, complete with water and a small treat for a restful night.

What time is check in / check out?

Check-in is from 3:00pm. If you arrive earlier, we’ll happily look after your luggage while you stretch your legs or settle in with a coffee. Checkout is at 12 noon, giving you a relaxed start to the day.

How do I use a gift voucher?

All the details on how to redeem a gift voucher are shown on your gift voucher. For hotel stays or any of our dining gift vouchers please contact the hotel on 020 7499 3464 to book. Don't forget to have you gift voucher reference ID to hand.

What is the cost of breakfast?

Our Continental Breakfast Buffet is £25 per adult and £15 per child under 10. To include cooked items such as a Full English, the price is £35 per person.

Do you have a spa?

Yes. The Spa at The Athenaeum is a boutique haven of tranquility tucked beneath our Mayfair hotel. Guests can enjoy bespoke Temple Spa treatments, relax before or after dining at 116 Restaurant, or unwind in our 24-hour gym. To ensure your preferred treatment and time, we recommend booking in advance rather than on arrival.

What are the opening hours of the spa?

The Spa at The Athenaeum is open daily from 9am to 7pm. To guarantee your preferred treatment and time, we recommend that all bookings are made in advance.

Is the hotel sustainably certified?

Yes. The Athenaeum Hotel & Residences has achieved EarthCheck Silver Certification, a respected global standard that reflects our ongoing dedication to responsible travel and continuous improvement in environmental and social practices.

Does the hotel have water‑efficient faucets, toilets or showers?

Yes. In guest rooms and throughout the hotel we use water flow reduction systems on taps and showers and dual‑flush toilets, helping conserve water while maintaining a seamless and comfortable experience for you.

Does The Athenaeum Hotel have a towel or linen reuse programme?

We take a thoughtful approach to laundry and cleaning that reflects our environmental goals while ensuring your comfort. Guests can participate in ways that reduce water and energy use, and we continue to integrate sustainable housekeeping practices across the hotel.

Does the hotel have a food waste reduction programme?

Yes. In our dining outlets we work with ethically sourced local produce, transport food waste to an aerobic digester and recycle used cooking oil, all part of our ongoing efforts to reduce waste and support sustainable dining.

Does the hotel have a soap or toiletry donation programme?

We do. Through our partnership with Clean the World, unused soaps and toiletries from guest rooms are recycled into hygiene products that support children and families in need across the world, turning thoughtful guest amenities into positive global impact.
