Is in-room dining available at The Athenaeum Hotel?

Yes. In-room dining is available twenty-four hours a day, offering everything from early breakfasts to comforting late-night dishes. Guests can enjoy favourites from 116 at The Athenaeum in the privacy of their room or Residence, along with a selection of drinks and smaller plates. If you would like something tailored to your tastes, our team will be happy to prepare it for you.

Can I book interconnecting rooms?

Absolutely. Perfect for families or groups who want to stay close. Many of our rooms and Residences connect; please speak to our Reservations Team to secure the best option.

Do you offer laundry or dry cleaning at The Athenaeum Hotel?

Yes. Laundry and dry cleaning services are available daily. A detailed price list can be found in your room.

How close is The Athenaeum Hotel & Residences to public transport?

We are a short five minute stroll from Green Park station, with the Victoria, Jubilee, and Piccadilly lines ready to take you across London. Hyde Park Corner is also close by, less than seven minutes on foot. Victoria Station is only a few minutes away by cab, and both Paddington and Waterloo can be reached in around fifteen minutes.

Can I store my luggage before check in or after check out?

Certainly. We are happy to look after your luggage for as long as you need, giving you the freedom to enjoy London without carrying bags.

How can I book a meeting or event at The Athenaeum Hotel?

Booking is simple. Share your date, group size, and requirements with our events team, and we will guide you from there. A site visit can be arranged at any time, and we are also happy to provide a virtual walk-through if you prefer to explore the spaces remotely.

What meeting and event spaces does The Athenaeum Hotel offer?

The Athenaeum offers a collection of beautifully refurbished meeting and event spaces, each filled with natural daylight and designed for comfort and focus. The rooms are suited to everything from intimate meetings to mid-sized gatherings. Smaller suites host up to twelve guests, while our larger spaces can accommodate around a hundred guests, depending on the layout. Every room includes high-quality technology such as presentation screens, audio equipment, fast Wi Fi, and conferencing facilities, making it easy to connect with guests both in person and remotely. Our team will help shape the room setup and support you throughout your event.

Can I have packages delivered to the hotel before or during my stay?

Yes. You may send packages to the hotel. Please include your reservation name and arrival date on all parcels and let our Reservations Team know so we can expect them.

Is parking available near The Athenaeum Hotel?

While we do not have on site parking, we are pleased to accommodate guests at the nearby Sheraton Grand car park, just a short stroll from the hotel. Charges are typically £55 per vehicle per day. What are the opening times for 116 at The Athenaeum?

Our restaurant, 116, is open seven days a week, serving breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner.

Breakfast is available from 7:00am to 10:30am, followed by lunch from 12 noon to 2:30pm. Afternoon tea is served between 12 noon and 5:30pm, with dinner available from 6:00pm to 10:00pm, making it easy to enjoy dining at any time of day.

Is there a service charge at The Athenaeum Hotel?

Our role is to help you make the most of your precious time with us. Need an extra pillow? We will be right up. Want your luggage taken to your room? No questions, just done. Have a special occasion? We will help you celebrate. Many guests want to thank our team for making memories, so we have added a 5% service charge to your bill. If you prefer it not to be added, just let us know.

I don't want to pay the 5%. How do I remove it?

Simply tell us. No quibble and no awkwardness. It will be taken off straight away.

Who receives the 5% gratuity charge?

Every penny goes to our team, and it is equally shared from reception to housekeeping to the back-of-house heroes.

Is smoking or vaping allowed at The Athenaeum Hotel?

Smoking and vaping are permitted on the hotel’s front terrace. Our bar team also offers a curated selection of cigars to enjoy outdoors. Indoors, we maintain a smoke-free environment to ensure comfort for all guests.

Can The Athenaeum Hotel host private celebrations as well as business meetings?

Yes. Alongside corporate meetings and presentations, we host private dining, cocktail receptions, milestone celebrations, and social gatherings. Our events team will take care of everything from menus to mood, ensuring your occasion feels thoughtful and beautifully tailored.

What sockets and voltages are available in the rooms?

In our standard bedrooms, you will find UK 240 V continental sockets. Additionally, there are two-pin 110 V sockets for smaller devices. (In our Residences, if you’re using 110 V appliances, we recommend bringing a suitable transformer.)
