Many people wrongly assume they’ll be able to get a better rate for hotel bookings from search comparison websites and booking engines. In fact, at The Athenaeum we guarantee that you’ll get the best rate when you book directly with us. This means we display our best prices on our website. And if you happen to find a better rate elsewhere, let us know, and we’ll match it.
Another benefit we offer for booking directly with us is that we’ll give you a complimentary upgrade whenever availability allows us to do so. As a family-run hotel, loyalty means everything to us, so we’re happy to include perks like this for those who book directly with us.
Unless you have booked a special offer with a non-refundable rate, you can cancel or amend your booking on rooms and suites up until 6pm one day before arrival. Or if you’re staying in one of our residences, you can cancel or amend your booking seven days prior to arrival. When you book via a third party website, your cancellation and amendment rights sit with that website and not with the hotel.
One of the newest benefits we provide for those making direct bookings is complimentary access to The View, our brand new top floor lounge. This private members-style club with floor-to-ceiling windows offers panoramic views of London and is a place to relax amid the bustle of the city. We’ll serve you a complimentary drink and nibbles there every day too.
