1st December 2020
Paying tribute to the unsung heroes of 2020, this year’s lights have an icy blue theme. Each week, names of our key-worker heroes are quite literally being put up in lights. Don’t forget, you can nominate someone you know for this honour too.
A cold December evening in the capital wouldn’t be complete without a visit to see ‘The Spirit of Christmas’ golden angels, lighting the night’s sky on Regent Street.
This year’s display is a collaboration with Choose Love, a charity from Help Refugees. Visit the Choose Love pop-up shop where you can buy real gifts that the charity will distribute to one of the refugee projects they work on. In addition, there will be pink, glowing lightboxes along the street, each with a positive word inside to pay tribute to the courage and kindness of Londoners at the end of this testing year.
From the 4th of December, visit Kew Gardens to see no less than one millions lights forming a winter wonderland like no other. This magical display with beams of light combined with aerial dance, enchanting walks and dynamic laser projections proves a sure way to end 2020 on a high.
This hidden treasure is the perfect place for a spot of Christmas shopping away from the masses under an array of twinkling festive lights and decorations.
Already an iconic part of town, the glowing peacock-inspired lights have returned ready to help us celebrate Christmas and bring some much needed cheer. Whether you’re visiting for a luxury shopping experience or simply to gaze at the lights, you’ll certainly be heading home feeling ready for festivities.
